The Butterfly & Bird Garden was started in the fall of 2011. The goal of this on-going project is to create a showcase of plants that attract butterflies and birds while also providing a healthy arden environment for individuals to enjoy and learn from.Native perennial trees, bushes, and plants, which are specifically known to attract butterflies and birds, have been planted. Each spring annuals are added to enrich the available food sources and to add color and texture for interest. In the summer of 2013 a bench, butterfly houses, trellis, and compost bin were added by three local Boy Scouts who earned their Eagle Scout status upon completion of these projects.
